Does the AI actually recognize what's in my fridge?
Yes. FridgeChef uses Claude (by Anthropic) — one of the strongest vision models available. It identifies ingredients, brands, half-used containers and leftovers. It's not perfect, so you can tap any item to edit, add or remove before generating recipes.
Do my fridge photos get stored anywhere?
No. Photos are sent to the AI for analysis and immediately discarded after the request completes. We don't keep them, train on them or share them. See our Privacy Policy.
What if I don't have certain ingredients?
Each recipe shows what you have vs what's missing. "Ready to cook now" recipes need zero extra shopping. Other recipes might suggest one or two cheap pantry items you could grab.
Can I track macros?
Yes. Set targets for calories, protein, carbs and fat in your profile and FridgeChef matches recipes to them — computing macros ingredient by ingredient for accuracy.
How does the free plan work?
The Free plan is a one-time trial — 5 fridge scans and 10 recipe refreshes total, not monthly. It's enough to see how the app works for your real fridge. After that, upgrade to Pro Monthly ($9.99) or Pro Yearly ($69.99) to keep going.
Can I cancel Pro any time?
Yes. One click in Settings, no questions, no retention spam. Your Pro features stay until the end of the current billing period.
Do I need to download an app?
No App Store download is needed. FridgeChef runs in your browser, and on iPhone or Android you can add it to your home screen so it opens like a native app.
